She noted that NBC’s ongoing investments in waste reduction, innovative packaging, and large-scale material recovery continue to drive circularity across the country.

According to her, initiatives such as the NBC Packaging Collection Hub in Apapa demonstrate the company’s commitment to sustainability, responsible business practices, and meaningful collaboration with local communities to improve collection rates and strengthen environmental outcomes.

George added that the honour reflects years of sustained work in sustainable manufacturing, community-led waste recovery, and partnerships that support the growth of Nigeria’s recycling value chain.

This recognition speaks to the work we do daily to cut waste and advance circularity. Our Apapa Packaging Collection Hub is a clear example of how we partner with communities to boost collection rates and drive responsible waste management. These efforts continue to set the pace for the industry.

NBC has championed circularity through long-term initiatives that expand the plastic collection value chain, empower thousands of waste entrepreneurs, integrate recycled PET into its packaging, and deepen collaboration with industry partners and regulators to accelerate the country’s recycling ecosystem.

These interventions continue to deliver measurable impact, recovering significant volumes of plastic waste, creating economic opportunities, and supporting national environmental goals.
