NBC Honours Trade Partners, Sales Teams, Assures Commitment to Investment in Capacity Building
Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) Limited, a member of the Coca‑Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (CCHBC), has restated its unwavering commitment to ensuring continuous support for its trade partners and sales teams through investment in capacity building.
And in keeping with its tradition of inspiring excellence, the company over the weekend honoured a number of its distributors and members of the sales force in recognition of their commitment to the growth of the company.
Those honoured at an event themed, '2020 Greater Lagos Commercial Convention Gala Nite’, held at the prestigious Eko Hotel & Suites, Lagos, included trade partners and sales team drawn from across the NBC Lagos operations. Each of them took home handsome awards and gifts for their contribution to the growth of the NBC business in the previous year.
Speaking at the commercial convention gala, the Sales Director, NBC, Goran Sladic said the event was in line with the company’s tradition of celebrating its sales and distribution teams annually in recognition of their invaluable contribution to the financial performance of NBC.
“Whatever we have achieved for almost 70 years of our operations in Nigeria starts with our people. Our strategy is to awaken the best in our sales and distribution teams in NBC and we will continue to invest more in the capacity of our trade partners and sales teams as we succeed together. We are lucky to be working with great brands and we intend to strengthen the partnerships with the Coca Cola Company, Monster Energy Drink and others,” he said.
Goran Sladic added that the annual convention was a platform that afforded NBC the opportunity to bring together its entire sales teams in Lagos region to discuss and review how the business fared in 2019 and to chart the way forward in 2020.
“2019 was a year of record growth and we believe we can do even better in the current year. So, we are taking key learnings from 2019 in view of the great opportunities that 2020 presents. We have the best quality products in the market but quality and safety cost money. We appreciate competition because it makes us better for the consumer, but quality is something we cannot compromise, not for competition, not for the cost,” the Sales Director stated.
Among those honoured were Sapphires & Garnet Consult, which received the Best Distribution Partner Greater Lagos 2019 award; Mirayo Stores emerged winner of the Best Distribution Partner MNM award, Lagos Central Region, while the Best Distribution Partner, Lagos Mainland Region award went to All Seasons Plaza. The Best Distribution Partner (Wholesale) award, Lagos Mainland was received by D Bimps Stores; VicMart Ventures took home the Best MDP in the West award while Alhaja Muyibat Qadri received the Best Distribution Partner award for selling over 20,000 packs amongst other winners.
A trade partner, Mrs. Deborah Situ, representing Sapphires & Garnet Consult, commended NBC for being consistent on innovation and remaining at the forefront of bottling quality products. She said, “NBC is a leading brand in the Nigeria non-alcoholic beverage industry and has been consistent in the production of quality products. There is stiff competition in the CSD market but most discerning consumers go for quality which is why NBC is still the market leader.”
While drawing market insight to support her point, she revealed that, taste and quality are among the key brand value drivers for NBC products to maintain the lead ahead of the competition.
