After more than six decades of refreshing millions of Nigerians, foremost non-alcoholic beverage giant, Nigerian Bottling Company surprised consumers on the streets with free bottles of cold beverages on Valentine’s Day as part of its commitment to spreading happiness.

The Managing Director of the company, Matthieu Seguin, led the distribution of cold bottles of Coca‑Cola to customers and passers-by around NBC’s operations in various states across the country including the head office, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Owerri, Benin, Asejire, Challawa, Jos and Ilorin. At the Head Office, Seguin was joined by Ekuma Eze, Public Affairs and Communications Director; Abiodun Peters, Legal Director and Rodrigo Recio, Execution Excellence Director.

According to Eze, the campaign, which coincided with this year’s Valentine’s Day, was aimed at reaching one million people with a chilled bottle of Coca Cola while inspiring unforgettable moments of happiness among its consumers.

“At NBC, we are committed not only to refreshing millions of Nigerians who continue to choose us as their preferred beverage brand, we are also passionate about bringing happiness into their lives while sharing in their most significant moments.”

One of the customers, Jamiu Ropo, a cloth seller at Oyingbo market, expressed delight at the gesture. “I haven’t sold a single item since I arrived the market today; I have been downcast. But receiving this free bottle of coke brightened my spirit. I have a reason to smile today,” he said.

For the campaign, NBC staff members were encouraged to donate bottles of Coca‑Cola bottle or cash as a way to spread love and happiness in the Valentine season.
